A question!

Just a quick post (I'm off to babysit soon!) to ask you all: Does anyone have any advice on getting blog sponsors/offering ad space? As in, how big does your blog need to be (how many readers/hits do you need to be getting) before you can start asking for sponsors/offering ad space? And how do you go about doing so when you're ready? And how much do you charge?

Thanks!

I'm not sure but i think i read somewhere that LA started offering ad spots when she got about 400 hits per day, i'm not sure about setting it up. If you like you and i could swap widgets then we each have an ad on eachother's blog for free? I think swapping with other similar bloggers is a good way to get started as you build up a readership together. xoxo

Thanks for the info! I'll have to snoop around LA's blog some more and see if I can figure out where she said that.

And that sounds great! When I get home, I'll definitely add your widget to my sidebar. Wonderful suggestion! :D

I was wondering.. what program do you use to make the widgets? I was thinking about making some for my blog..

I made mine in Photoshop and then figured out the codes from other widgets on blogs and by Googling. It really isn't too hard; I mean, you can do them at whatever your skill level is.

I'm planning on doing a more step-by-step sort of tutorial soon, if I ever get the time.

hey this is some good advise here. i'm so overloaded at uni at the moment but soon want to really focus on my blog. could you tell me how you find out how many hits you have had per day/week etc?

Well, I'm not sure how to count unique hits (I'm looking into that myself), but I have a hit counter from http://hit-counter.info/ on the bottom of my blog to keep track at least a little. I'm currently around 400, and the counter has been there since Jan. 23. So on average, I've gotten 33 hits per day. Which I think is pretty good for how long my blog has been up. :D
